When Leondra Scherer (also known as Fuzzy) encountered an injured buck around 2012 and couldn't find help, it became apparent that Western New York needed a cohesive organization for the rescue and rehabilitation of large mammals.
Fuzzy Fawn takes in over 150 deer per year and answers over 400 phone calls! That's 400 individual animals that were either connected to treatment or assessed and safely left in their environment.
We can only be in so many places at once, so we would be nothing without the network of people across Western New York willing to help transport wildlife. Fuzzy Fawn is always looking for new volunteers for transportation.
Nature can be surprising and not every animal needs help when you think they do. If you have concerns about a baby deer, click the button below to see if this behavior is normal before doing anything. Otherwise, call (716) 909-8536 for wildlife in Erie and Niagara County and surrounding areas.
